Mailntercept™ is an “Intercept Module” designed for use with Microsoft® Exchange Server that utilizes interception to redirect targeted e-mail messages for analysis and application of appropriate security policies. The new Mailntercept™ 5.0 policy manager interface allows administrators to quickly establish policies where and as needed.

Mailntercept™ 5.0 provides random interception of messages circulating within an organization. Random sampling is a feature that has been introduced to allow for a portion of messages flowing within an organization can easily be reviewed at an administrator's request. By providing a random sampling, administrators, compliance officers and HR can easily and transparently review messages containing data deemed inappropriate by corporate policy sets within an organization. With the added ability to BCC: messages, organizations now have a means to archive, record and gather information should that become necessary to take future action.
Additional features in this release include Message Header/Message Body Scanning. Mailntercept™ 5.0 enables message scanning based upon message header, message body and message subject content. Messages that are flagged with Outlook Sensitivity for confidential can now be intercepted and forwarded to an encryption gateway or secure document delivery solution.

For example, if a message contains a .xls file along with a .doc, Mailntercept™ 5.0 can allow the delivery of the document while stripping the excel spreadsheet, as well as notify the sender or blind carbon copy an administrator. This ability to take multiple actions on a single message expands the latest feature set and makes Mailntercept™ 5.0 an extremely powerful tool.
