BOSTON, MA NOVEMBER 27, 2007: Ojolie (www.ojolie.com) is a unique art-quality ecard subscription service with all cards designed by artist, Frederikke Tu. These animated ecards evoke images of warmth, majesty, and beauty to fit the mood of the occasion. The cards feature a varied cast of wildlife, pets and people, realistically animated and choreographed to carefully selected music, delivering a clear artistic vision and message.
These cards enable subscribers to deliver their personal messages in the most tasteful manner and as a result Ojolie has quickly established its reputation for unique artistic designs in a league of its own. Industry leader, About.com has recognized Ojolie as No. 1 in both the Christmas and Birthday ecard categories – and ranks Ojolie no less than No. 4 in all other ecard offerings. With high-quality and secure delivery options designed for ease of use to send and pick-up the greeting cards, Ojolie continues its phenomenal growth as an outstanding ecard site for the discerning card sender.
Artist, Frederikke Tu, was born in Sweden to Danish parents. Growing up in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Chile, Frederikke’s need for creative expression was apparent early in life. Although she received no formal art training, earning a degree in international business after moving to the United States in 1991, she has painted, drawn, sculpted and photographed her visions of the world throughout life.
After seeing Jacquie Lawson’s ecards, Frederikke and husband, Tim, a computer programmer, knew their complimentary talents would enable them to create a site that would allow Frederikke to share her artistic vision. But first Frederikke had to teach herself Adobe Flash (a complex computer program necessary for the animation of the cards), which she combines with both computer rendered and handpainted watercolor elements to create the cards.
"When I first started making these cards I had a strong vision for the kind of message and aesthetic I wanted to convey - the perfectionist in me wanted everything from the artistic elements, the music to the storyline to convey this vision - the challenge and goal is to continue keep the work fresh, inspired and varied.”
The traditional card companies have begun to recognize the need for an artist-quality ecard offering and following this trend the world-renowned ecard site of Jacquie Lawson was acquired this year by American Greetings. While the charm of Jacquie Lawson’s cards is the vignettes of her dog and the English country side, many find that Ojolie provides a broader scope in artistic offerings. Frederikke has traveled and lived on four continents, making her cards appeal to a wide global audience.
While the ecard market continues its expansion with free or subscription offerings from several well-known card companies, the niche that Ojolie is most successful draws its customers from those who want art-quality ecards that can make a special occasion even more memorable. With an annual subscription to www.ojolie.com of only $10, this allows clients high-quality greeting options for all holidays and personal milestones.
