Menlo Park, California, January 7, 2008 – On January 20th, 2008, at the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) Western Regional Conference in Newport Beach, California, TRG Direct officially launches its innovative service that makes direct-filing of customs entries a reality for small and medium U.S. importers. TRG Direct is an import entry direct-filing service that provides the support, but not the cost, of a licensed customs broker. It improves control and compliance for importers as well as reducing costs.
Although TRG Direct and its charter clients have been direct-filing since 2006, the opening of the AAEI Western Regional Conference and Expo is where TRG Direct will officially launch its service to importers nationwide. TRG Direct will introduce its service at the Expo and will give private consultations and demonstrations by appointment. Prior to TRG Direct, the cost and complexity of direct-filing was prohibitive for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and required the specialized knowledge of a customs broker. TRG Direct provides a customs web-based ABI (Automated Broker Interface) system to importers for a low, one-time initial set-up and training fee. There are no periodic charges, upgrade costs, software downloads or initial investments in software. An importer simply pays a fixed cost per entry regardless of the size or complexity of the entry. Uniquely, TRG Direct also provides importers with the customer support of licensed customs brokers in addition to technical support. Set-up, training and support to TRG Direct customers is provided by licensed customs brokers experienced with direct-filing of customs entries.
TRG Direct is the brainchild of Trade Risk Guaranty founder John F. Michel, Kernow Capital Corporation Chairman Bruce A.. Wilson and direct-filing experts Michael D. Laden and Kelby G. Woodard of Trade Innovations, Inc.
