Two out of three dentists plan to vote for the Republicans this November, according to a recent Wealthy dentist survey. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Two out of three dentists in a recent Wealthy Dentist survey said they would vote for the Republican party in this November's presidential election. Among Democratic dentists, only one in three preferred Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama.
Whether a dentist was male or female was highly correlated with political opinion. The average male dentist in this survey favored the Republican party, while the average female dentist leaned toward the Democrats.
Lots of Democratic voters are unimpressed with the country's progress during the past eight years. "We need change after the worst 8 years of a Presidency in my lifetime," said one Democrat dentist. "The Republicans are criminals who would like this country run as the Nazis would have," offered another.
Republicans have a number of worries. "Lower taxes, more security, less government," said a Republican oral surgeon.
Many wish they had more options. "That Mike Huckabee should be President!" said one Republican. "I would have love to have seen Mitt still in the race. VP?" asked another.
Republican dentists sometimes see Democrats as Communists. "It's a clear choice between the Democrats (aka Socialists) and McCain," said one. "We need to pull away from the forces of socialism in our country. Let's be smart and close our borders before we meld into a socialistic country and lose all control of what we are and what we stand for!" commented another.
The "lesser of two evils" mantra was repeated time and again. "It stinks. I'll hold my nose and vote for McCain," sniffed a Republican dentist. "Though I'll vote for the more conservative party, I'm not happy with any of the candidates for president. The choice I'll make is based on which candidate I think will do the least harm to our country and its citizens. It seems to me the choice will be between worse and worst!" sighed a Republican oral surgeon.
Though Democratic dentists were more likely to prefer Obama, not all agreed. "Barack will get the nomination, and that is too bad because Hillary is better qualified and deserves it," said one. "We need Obama to get away from all the negativity that Clinton irrationally evokes in people. He can also lead us through these troubled times better than she can," offered another.
"I love that the candidates have the country excited about the presidential election and the electoral process. The war, the economy, and health care are major issues which the Republicans and Democrats will address very differently," said a Republican orthodontist.
"The 'change' mantra sounds nice, but will cost you individually a whole lot more than common sense would. Common sense, that would be the REAL change," offered a Republican periodontist.
"Just as I suspected - dentists are not terribly liberal!" exclaimed Jim Du Molin, dental management consultant and founder of dental marketing resource The Wealthy Dentist. "I'm sure this will not surprise the non-dentists out there, since the profession is generally known for being conservative."
