“Wealth Building” workshops, hosted by financial expert, Xavier Thomas (Madison Funding, Inc.), are back by popular demand. The workshop will instruct attendees on what the steps to wealth building are.

The “ Wealth Building” workshops will be held March 10th at the Baptist Minister Evening Conference, 513 E. 36th Street, Baltimore, MD 21216 at 7;00 p.m.; March 19th at the McElderry Park Community Association, 218 N. Montford Avenue, Baltimore, Md. 21215 at 6:00 p.m., and March 25th at the C.A.R.E. Association, 219 N. Chester Street, Baltimore, Md. 21231 at 6:00 p.m.

Some subjects that contribute to the process of “wealth building” are discussed. Topics may include repairing your credit; purchasing that first home; refinancing the home you have, and buying investment property.

Thomas is manager of the Operations Center of the corporate headquarters of Madison Fund, Inc. He has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement in Secondary Market Management by the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and in 1989 he became a Graduate of Real Estate Institute, and completed the course of study for Certified Residential Specialist in 1988. Before coming to Baltimore in 1988, Xavier worked as a Vice President for Century 21. He began his financial career lending for Household Finance Corporation in 1978 in Camp Springs, Maryland

Thomas is involved in many community service activities, including the Oliver Community Association as a Board Member, the Uplifting Minds II Conference and serves as the East Baltimore Planning Area Chair for the Baltimore City Public School System Facility Solutions.

Xavier held his first annual "Home Buyers Expo" at Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore last year. He offered free workshops on topics such as “the steps to wealth building,” "steps to home ownership," “choosing the right realtor,” and exhibitors were on hand with free information and material. The Home Buyers Expo is held again this year, Saturday June 28th at the Oliver Community Center. The expo is held in partnership with The Baltimore Times.
