The W.H. Tupper Museum presents “Troy Broussard Paints the Town”, an art exhibition featuring area landmarks and landscapes. Exhibited in the Tupper’s Old Magnolia Room, the collection of over 40 paintings by Troy Broussard range from scenes of downtown Jennings to the Lake Arthur lakeshore. The exhibit runs from March 10 to April 18, 2008, with an opening reception Tuesday, March 11, 2008, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
Troy Broussard was born in Lafayette and raised in Jennings. He went from JHS to LSU and on to Houston for a 20-year career as the head of a prominent design corporation. He has shown paintings in Houston galleries since 1995. In 2007 he returned to his hometown of Jennings.
Broussard’s talents are God-given and techniques are self-taught. His depictions are representational and specific while his treatment of color instills animated qualities to his paintings. “Troy Broussard Paints the Town” represents a body of work accomplished since the artist’s return to Jennings in summer 2007.
