Passaic County community will host College Funding Associates to speak on the subject of reducing college costs. The seminar will discuss ideas on eligibility for financial aid. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Because of the success of our first two college planning seminars a third FREE workshop on getting thousands of dollars for your child's education will be held at the YM-YWHA, 1 Pike Ave. in Wayne on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 6:30pm. The speaker will be Chuck Drawbaugh, a leading college presenter and consumer advocate. He will be discussing such topics as how to send your kids to the school of their dreams without going broke; how to increase your eligibility for college financial aid; and most importantly, the increasing prevalence of college scholarship scams and how to avoid being a victim.
Additional topics to be included:
• How to pay for college with less money out of your pocket.
• How to send your child to a private school for less than the cost of a public or state school.
• How to pick the colleges that will give you the most amount of money.
• The one mistake every parent makes when applying for scholarships.
• Strategies to be able to afford the school of your dreams.
• A calendar of college events - what to do right now if your child is in high school.
• Paying your portion on a tax favored basis.
