Event to take place at Qwest Field Pavilion October 25th and 26th, 2008

SEATTLE, WA August 21, 2008 – Travel the world of food and wine without bringing your passport at the first Seattle Food and Wine Experience. The inaugural event will feature over a thousand wines from more than ten different countries complimented by foods from some of Seattle’s top restaurants. “The event is intended to be a true international showcase of wine and food” said Bonnie Raffo, the event’s co-producer.
The $59 admission includes tasting of all wines, Champagne, beer and nonalcoholic beverages, entry into all KitchenAid cooking demonstrations, tasting of a large array of gourmet food, plus five VIP tasting experiences with the top restaurants in Seattle. The experience takes place at Qwest Field Pavilion on October 25th and 26th, 2008. Proceeds from the event will benefit Heroes for the Homeless.
Vintners from at least ten countries will pour samples of over a thousand different wines at the two day event. “We are excited to be the first event of this size in the Seattle area to showcase wines from all over the globe.” Raffo said.
More than twenty restaurants, all of which have received recent accolades from Seattle food writers and critics, will participate in the event. The current list of participating restaurants includes Barking Frog, Cafe Juanita, Campagne, Cremant, Crush, Dahlia Lounge, Enotria, Flying Fish, Herb Farm, La Spiga, Port Ludlow, Rovers, Ruth's Chris, Salish Lodge, Serafina, The Corson Building, Volterra and 35th Street Bistro.
At the KitchenAid Cooking School top local, national and international chefs will showcase their culinary skills through demonstrations. The list of chefs includes Phyllis Buzzini of Alaska Silk Pie Company and Bobby Moore of the Barking Frog.
A select group of exhibitors will offer samples of gourmet foods. Other booths will showcase kitchen accessories and food and wine publications. The “Eco Lounge” will feature sustainable furniture, environmentally friendly auto makers and organic food and wine.
