At The De Vere Collection PGA Seniors Championship, Northumberland, Ian Woosnam and David J Russell have made the cut with Woosie tied 50th and Russell tied 57th.  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Woosie is currently eight shots behind the club-house leaders, Ross Drummond (Scotland) and Giuseppe Cali (Italy) who both finished the second round on 1-under par 71s.
Woosie who entered the PGA Seniors Championship seeking a third win on his debut season to secure his place at the top of the order of merit, confessed to playing poorly – Woosie did however manage to pull back to 5-over par with a birdie on the par-three, 17th, but bogeyed the last and was penalised for his caddie standing on the golf ball, leaving the Ryder Cup winning captain tied 64th on his first day.
Despite appalling conditions on the second day, both players produced a total of 5 birdies and finished jointly on 4-over 76. Having made the cut on Friday, Woosie must match his recent performances in Poland and Russia to prevent Spain’s Juan Quiros from increasing his lead further.
On his first three outings with Forgan Golf, Woosie has won the Russian Seniors, finished 13th in the Senior Open Championship and 23rd in the US Seniors, confirming his reputation as been an iconic world class golfer.
David J Russell, ‘DJ’ recently signed to Forgan Golf and will represent the company on the European Seniors Tour.
