Forgan’s Ian Woosnam secured a respectable tie for 11th place at the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters at Woburn Golf Club this weekend, whilst extending his lead over Bernard Langher on the Seniors Tour Order of Merit.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

England’s Gordon J Brand achieved a back-to-back victory with a 2-under-par 70 – his second win of the tour in the space of seven days.

Day 1 at Woburn saw the magic of previous senior matches return to the Ryder Cup winning captain – Ian Woosnam, with 4 birdies and 11 pars leaving him in an excellent position for day two on 1-under par 72. Forgan’s latest signing and European Senior Tour veteran – David J Russell (‘DJ), closed on 3-over par 75 with birdies at the fifth and eleventh.

Dropping four shots on his second day, Woosnam closed on 1-over par leaving Spain’s Juan Quiros one shot ahead of Gordon J. Brand heading into the final day at Woburn.

The final day at Woburn saw Woosie drop three shots on his last five holes returning a 73 seeing the Welch legend scale the leader-board for a share of 11th place with prize-winnings of €6,891.33. Fellow Forgan signing and friend, ‘DJ’ Russell improved on his second day performance, closing on 1-over par 73.

Ian Woosnam and ‘DJ’ Russell will both be representing Forgan of St. Andrews – the world’s oldest golf brand - at the next stage of The European Seniors Tour to be held at the Casa Serena Golf Course, Czech Republic from 5th to 7th September, 2008.
