Sherrie Maria Keys brings a fresh, relevant sound to the soul of gospel music. The gifted gospel singer has launched a new Myspace page for gospel music lovers. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
With the launch of Chubby Girl Records, Gospel Songstress Sherrie Maria Keys brings a fresh, relevant sound to the soul of gospel music. Sherrie Keys has launched a new imprint called Chubby Girl Records, a boutique gospel music label focused on impacting the world for Christ. The gospel songstress also has a Myspace page featured at http://www.myspace.com/sherriekeys.
Keys states that praise and worship is the passion of Chubby Girl Records and that music ministry takes precedence over image-conscious trends. "Our calling is higher than gospel music. Our mission is to exalt Christ, to magnify Him with such artistry that listeners look beyond our externals to experience Christ alone".
Through Chubby Girl Records, Keys believes gospel music marketing offers a compelling and unique opportunity to positively influence plus-size consumers. A gospel music collaboration with a fashion-forward plus-size artist represents both a new retail offering for Christian music lovers and a breakthrough business model for the plus-size industry. Keys, a gifted singer in her own right, will be the first gospel recording artist on the label's roster.
In conjunction with the gospel music label's launch, the company is designing a clothing line targeting the plus-size market. Keys believes that plus-size women deserve fashion equality and that the demographic has strong growth potential in an otherwise stagnant retail market. For Sherrie Keys, distribution means more than simply shipping a load of CDs to retailers. It means obtaining rack space for innovative plus-size artists with the right kind of "buzz" for the right kind of customer.
Keys has earmarked most of her personal CD sales to support charitable endeavors. The artist has set up an outreach ministry to highlight her concerns which she describes as human suffering which wounds the spirit. "Mohandes Ghandi said that there were people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread. Our mission is to reach hurting, indigenous people and say, 'Don't give up! God has not forgotten you' ".
