SGS held a successful wind energy seminar in London on 20th October 2008. The seminar was oriented to the needs of the project owners, financiers, and underwriters by covering the topic of risk management of the wind farm projects. The presentations focused on the financial aspects of the wind farm projects covering both technical and other potential risks, and risk mitigation practices in order to explain the potential risks involved in the wind farm projects.
Mark Dowell, Jan Ibsø, Torsten Muuß, and Jale Cairney of SGS held presentations covering the subjects of SGS services, wind energy, selecting right technology, and risk management of wind farm projects. Göran Loman of Vattenfall shared his knowledge about wind farm project development, Strange Skriver of Danish Association of Wind Farm Owners talked about lessons learned from the wind farm projects, Agner Hansen of Product-Quality presented subject of quality and wind turbine components by focusing on the cost of loss production.
The seminar was concluded with a panel discussion chaired by Milena Stoyanova of SGS. The panellists were Jamieson Thrower of RBS, Director Power Project Finance, Fintan Whelan of Mainstream Renewable Energy, CFO, and Tom Murley of HG Capital, Director.
