FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

Leading video streaming and web TV providers Streaming Tank have helped Diabetes charity Diabetes U.K in their recent Silent Assassin campaign, aimed at generating awareness of the disease amongst online communities.

Streaming Tank have helped the charity by streaming video content for the campaign in the 3-D virtual world, Second Life. Residents of the online space will be offered a number of topical and informative videos on the subject of diabetes, in order to raise much needed awareness of the disease.

In order to maximise its exposure, Diabetes U.K has also syndicated the online campaign through the social network sites Facebook, Bebo and Myspace.

Web Editor at Diabetes UK, Graeme Manuel commented on the campaign, saying:

“Awareness of the symptoms and devastating complications of diabetes among young people is becoming increasingly important. People now get their information from more diverse sources and so it's vital we expand our communications channels to mirror this and better reach our target groups."

"We hope that by developing new methods of communication using social media sites such as Second Life, Facebook and MySpace we will be able to increase the reach of our awareness campaigning and key messages both to people in the UK as well as internationally.”

Streaming Tank Director James Wilkinson commented: “We are delighted to be able to support the work of Diabetes U.K. The video streaming content has been specially designed to inform and advise people about diabetes. We believe that by using accessible platforms such as second life and other social media platforms, we will be successful in achieving the aim of generating awareness.”

Streaming Tank have provided webcasting, video streaming and Web TV services to a host of organisations across the UK. To find out more about the range of service they offer visit: http://www.streamingtank.com
