This is an event announcement for a non-political, non-partisan event over the Independence Day holiday weekend, open to anyone and free of charge.

Union County; Summit, NJ, June 30, 2009 – NJ Citizens for Liberty, a NJ non-profit corporation, will kick off the holiday weekend with a PRE-Independence Day TEA PARTY on Friday, July 3rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Village Green in Summit, NJ, just next to the Summit train station. Public parking available, easy access from Route 24 and Interstate 78. Join with fellow patriots in America in celebrating our independence, liberty and freedom! Featured speakers will include Michael Johns, health care executive, former White House and U.S. federal government official, and conservative policy analyst and writer; and Ken Kaplan, President of KenKap Realty Corporation and Libertarian Candidate for Governor of NJ.

Michael Johns is a health care executive, former White House and U.S. federal government official, and a conservative policy analyst and writer. In his industry capacities, Michael has held executive management responsibilities in several components of the U.S. and global health care industry.

About Ken Kaplan

Ken Kaplan is President of KenKap Realty Corporation. He has experience in retail business and law. A graduate of Brandies University and NYU Law School, he was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1972.

Born in Newark, Kaplan grew up in West Orange, and lived in Rockaway and Livingston before moving to his current residence in Parsippany. His community involvement includes membership in the Livingston Lions Club, where he is a past president.

One of Kaplan’s priorities is phasing out the New Jersey state income tax as we reduce the size and cost of state government.
