FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

Manchester based Claire Forshaw has become one of the first women in the UK to officially change her name by Deed Poll to a web domain, turning her life-long passion into the business she thought she would never have. The 24 year-old, who changed her name earlier this week to ‘Princess-Rainbow.com’, had always wanted to change her name by Deed Poll, but after her boyfriend, 23 year old Robert Morris told her it cost hundreds to change a name officially by Deed Poll to act as a deterrent, she put her dream aside until one of her friends let the cat out of the bag!

Princess-Rainbow.com, who works as a care assistant in Manchester, said, “I always wanted to change my name by Deed Poll and I knew that if ever I got the chance I would change it to a web domain, to hopefully become the first! My boyfriend has always told me it cost hundreds of pounds to do, so I just forgot about it, but when I realised it actually cost as little as £10, my boyfriend said that Princess-Rainbow.com, was ideal for me, because I am mad on rainbows!”

Jamie Jackson, from The Legal Deed Service, said, “When we got Claire’s name change through and saw that she would like to have a domain name as her new moniker, we were really excited. We firmly believe that she is the first to change her name to a web domain, and her name change has turned out to be life changing, which is great.”

After changing her name officially by Deed Poll, at The Legal Deed Service, Princess-Rainbow.com’s boyfriend looked online to find out if that domain was taken, and after finding out that it was free, he purchased it for her, allowing her to pursue her hidden passion for art.

Princess-Rainbow.com, added, “My dream has always been to sell my artwork to a wider audience and after studying art at college, me and my friend who has an art degree, said that we would love to go into business together selling our creations. Changing my name has given me that kick-start into pursuing my dream and the new site will feature everything from paintings, textiles, 3D work and jewellery.

“My name change is great and although my friends have started referring to me by my new name, and my place of work have changed all of the paperwork to include my new name, both my boss and my mum are refusing to call me Princess-Rainbow.com!”

Mr Jackson, whose firm also recently changed the Big Brother housemates names to ‘Halfwit’ and ‘Dogface’, added, “We get so many crazy name changes through, but it is great when our name changes have a life changing effect, like this one has had on Princess-Rainbow.com. In the past we have had name changes to highlight a topical issue, name changes carried out after drunken bets and name changes carried out to pay homepage to celebrities, but never a domain name.”
