Count-n-Count launches web-based Food Stock Control solution

The popularity of internet based software services has been steadily growing. “Software as a Service” (SaaS) was conceived in the late 90s and has gathered popularity to the point where Gartner Research predicts that SaaS will comprise 25% of the overall software market by 2011. In September 2009 Count-n-Control launched offering a web-based Stock Control solution for hotels, restaurants, cafes and institutional food service operations.

When asked about the benefits of an internet based system Paul Clarke, founder of Count-n-Count (www.countncontrol.com), said “the SaaS model reduces costs associated with hosting, licensing and supporting a system in-house. A web-based solution can be easily accessed from any internet enabled device, facilitating increased ease of off-site management and administration. This makes it ideal for the over-sight of multi-site operations.”

Count-n-Control is a free service and Paul Clarke says he is not concerned about its profitability in the short term, saying “there are a number of alternatives for monetizing the concept including premium features, online ordering interfaces and targeted advertising. Our immediate focus is on making sure the service is the best it can be.”
