Annual Award Chosen By Readers Of The Palo Alto Weekly

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PALO ALTO, CA – September 2, 2009 – The Palo Alto Family YMCA revealed today that it was voted Best Gym in Palo Alto Weekly’s annual issue of the city’s best, ‘The Best of Palo Alto 2009,’ announced by the paper on Friday. The YMCA, located on Ross Road in Palo Alto, has won in this category before, and has also been named in the paper’s Hall of Fame category in previous years, for winning the award five times consecutively.

“We are extremely honored to have once again been voted ‘Best Gym’ by readers of the Palo Alto Weekly,” said Scott Glissmeyer, Executive Director of the Palo Alto Family YMCA. “This is one of the best awards we could have been given, as it voted on by members of Palo Alto and the Bay Area, so we feel very grateful to have such wonderful support from our community.”

The award is the result of the yearly poll taken by Palo Alto Weekly where readers’ votes for multiple categories are tallied up, with the winners announced in its yearly Best Of issue. The ‘Best Gym’ category is a subdivision of the ‘Services’ category. The Best Of issue serves as a consumer guide both online and in print, for Palo Alto and Bay Area residents to refer to throughout the year.
