Modern Mavens, LLP Hosts First Monthly Networking Event. Modern Mavens owns consulting businesses: The Metroplex Marketing Edge and Targeted Positioning.

Fort Worth, Texas, Oct. 13, 2009 − Modern Mavens, LLP, a holding firm for communications consulting companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, hosted its first monthly networking event, The Modern Mixer, at Black Finn in Addison on Oct. 8.

The Modern Mixer is a joint venture between Modern Mavens and other networking-based companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The first event was co-sponsored with Hurock Beats from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Modern Mixer consisted of a business card exchange, an ice breaking game and a drawing for an Apple iPod Touch. Modern Mavens also provided discounted drinks and a free appetizer buffet. More than 50 people attended the well-received event. Teshorn Jackson of Kid Dynomite Photography said, "Just let me know when your next event is, and I'll be there!"

At the conclusion of the event, the hosts drew a name to win the grand prize of the evening, an Apple iPod Touch. Deanna Richmond of Las Colinas, the winner of the Apple iTouch, said, "Winning the iPod Touch was great! The Modern Mixer was an awesome experience for young professionals to share ideas, meet and greet."
