Long Island real estate attorney Peter T. Roach has been elected by the Editors of Law and Politics as a New York Metro Area Super Lawyer for 2009. Only five percent of attorneys in the metro area are chosen for this honor by their peers. His name and his firm name, Peter T. Roach and Associates, P.C., appeared in the September 2009 edition of Super Lawyers Magazine for attorneys recognized in Real Estate. Mr. Roach also appeared in the May 2009 edition of Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition, highlighting his primary practice area of real estate, after his 2008 election. As a result of his election, Mr. Roach recently attended a celebration of the 2009 New York Super Lawyers at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel on October 7, 2009.
Over 89,000 attorneys in the New York metro area were surveyed to narrow down the candidates, in addition to a review of journals and other records of attorney reputation. The Editorial Board reviewed all aspects of candidates’ practice including honors and awards, judgments, settlements and scholarly lectures. Finally, a review board of specialists made final recommendations within each area of expertise.
Mr. Roach has owned and operated his own small business in Nassau County for over 30 years. His practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate sales and finance, as well as collection of debts, both secured and unsecured. His clients range from first time home buyers to the world’s largest institutional lenders. Mr. Roach is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, where he teaches the courses “Real Estate Drafting” and “Suretyship & Mortgages.” He is also the president of the New York Chapter of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms (which he will represent at the annual meeting held in Colorado Spring on October 23rd) and Vice-President of the Harmony Heights School, a therapeutic residential and day school serving girls with emotional needs.
