Contest Challenges Users to Tell “Scariest Freaking Story Ever” Entry with most votes wins new Amazon Kindle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

American Fork, UT - 10/19/09 - ClassesandCareers.com is challenging its users to submit their most shiver-inducing tales for their Scariest Freaking Story Ever Contest 2009. The entry with the most votes will win a new Amazon Kindle. Entries range from bloody to bone-chilling, from to true life accounts, to fictional short stories.

The contest asks users to tell their most frightening story, factual or fictional. Entries will be evaluated based on the number of votes they receive. The story that receives the most votes will win a brand-new Amazon Kindle. A randomly chosen runner-up will win a $50 gift card to Amazon.com.

Entrants spin spooky tales of malevolent spirits, possessed MP3 players, Native American shapeshifters, and surgery gone horribly wrong.

"One night he woke up and found a man standing over his bed staring down at him… Then the man spoke. ‘You feel cold, don’t you?’” writes Patric Krueger. “About a week later he woke up with 2nd degree burns on his arm.”

"Scary stories have an important place in the college experience, and the best time to tell them is Halloween," says Adam Sorensen, director of SEO at ClassesandCareers.com. "So we created a contest where students share their scariest stories and win a truly awesome prize."

The contest is the second contest from ClassesandCareers.com's new College Life blog, which features posts, videos, podcasts, and contests about everything college life. More contests will follow on a monthly basis.

Sorensen continues, "Everyone has a scary story to tell, no matter who they are. Allowing people to tell those stories is a fun experience."

The contest ends at midnight on October 31, after which the top five stories will be chosen. Users will be allowed to vote for their favorite story until November 7. The winner and the randomly chosen runner-up will be announced November 10. To enter the contest or see contest entries, visit the contest page.
