FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

October 22, 2010, Santa Clara, CA. --- Virtual Edge Summit 2010, the Summit on virtual Events, virtual Communities and virtual Marketing announced it has opened its general Call for Speakers on October 22nd. Virtual Edge Summit 2010 will be held February 22-23, 2010, in Santa Clara, California at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

“Competition for customer’s and prospect’s attention is fierce, yet the economy and environmental concerns have made travel more challenging than ever so companies are turning to online or virtual means of conducting business,” said Michael Doyle, Executive Director of the Virtual Edge Institute, producers of the Summit. “We are seeing a tremendous demand for virtual events of all types—conferences, trade shows, meetings, webcasts, job fairs as well as training and education as companies realize that the technology exists to effectively deliver solutions and build community and relationships online.”

Proposals to speak at Virtual Edge Summit 2010 should be submitted directly on the Virtual Edge Summit website (www.VirtualEdgeSummit.com) and should address: emerging technologies, best-practices and techniques, review case studies and profiles of successful virtual events, communities and virtual marketing practices. The focus is on helping attendees find and apply effective virtual meeting and marketing strategies for their business.

“Hybrid events, which combine virtual and physical elements of meeting, are likely to continue to gain popularity in 2010,” said Vance McCarthy, Senior Analyst for the Virtual Edge Institute. “Even if people can’t travel to a physical event value both the content and interactive aspects of live meetings and events. Hybrid events give audiences a richer experience than a simple on-demand replay.”

Virtual Edge Summit’s selection committee is interested in speakers from event, digital and marketing professionals as well as the growing set of technologies, products and service providers. The focus is on how these solutions are being used most effectively so the inclusion of users will be important to any presentation submitted. Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies to showcase proprietary solutions, methodologies and services.

Speaker submissions are due by December 1, 2009. Submissions can be made at http://www. VirtualEdgeSummit.com and will be selected based on relevance and potential impact of the ideas, methods and/or technology described.
