FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

October 28, 2010, Santa Clara, CA. --- Virtual Edge Summit 2010, the Summit on virtual Events, virtual Communities and virtual Marketing announced it has created Business 3Di, a Special Track devoted specifically to use of 3D immersive environments in business. Business 3Di will take place at the Virtual Edge Summit 2010 to be held February 22-23, 2010, in Santa Clara, California at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

“Over the past several months we have seen interest in 3D immersive environments really accelerate in business,” said Michael Doyle, Executive Director of the Virtual Edge Institute, producers of the Virtual Edge Summit.

“We are expanding our program as a direct result of the demand for information on this topic and have invited virtual world veterans John Jainschigg, Executive Director of Ziff Davis Enterprise's Internet and Community Laboratory, and Kim Smith, COO, World2Worlds, Inc., as Special Track Chairs for the Business 3Di program.”

Business 3Di will address business use of 3D immersive environments and virtual worlds -- for events, customer engagement, product and process demonstration, classroom and situational training, market research, data visualization, web video production and other innovative applications.

“We’ll be bringing together the top minds in 3D immersive environments to assess current technology and platforms; share case studies, cost, and ROI analyses; and show how you can start using these tools today, to overcome distance and connect with customers in new and powerful ways,” said Jainschigg. “We have opened a call for presenters to widen our search for speakers and interested parties can submit proposals directly on the Virtual Edge Summit website (www.VirtualEdgeSummit.com). The focus is on helping attendees find and apply effective 3D immersive environments for their business. “

Proposals should address: emerging technologies, best-practices and techniques, review case studies and profiles of successful virtual meetings, events, communities, customer engagements, training, data visualization and virtual marketing.

Speaker submissions are due by November 15, 2009. Submissions can be made at http://www. VirtualEdgeSummit.com and will be selected based on relevance and potential impact of the ideas, methods and/or technology described.
