Safeguard Self Storage Kicks off Aggressive Expansion in the Chicago Market with Completion of the Purchase of Land for a New Facility on 6014 California Street in the “West Rogers Park” area of Chicago, Illinois

Safeguard Self Storage initiates expansion in the Chicago self-storage market with the purchase of land for its newest location in a very densely populated area of Chicago, Illinois. Safeguard closed on the purchase on December 20, 2013 to develop its 67th store nationwide and will be just a few miles north of its Wabash Avenue store in Chicago. The 51,775 square foot self-storage facility will offer this Chicago neighborhood 717 storage units in a variety of sizes, with modern security features and many amenities. Safeguard currently has ten stores in the Chicago market already and has yet another piece of land presently under contract and expected to close in January 2014 in addition to this West Rogers Park location. That purchase, when completed next month, will bring to 12 the total number of stores the company intends to operate in Chicago. As is typical of Safeguard's 63 open stores nationwide, the West Rogers Park self-storage facility will be designed with security, convenience and customer service in mind. Amenities at this location will include: heated and air conditioned space, a convenient drive-up loading area, computer-controlled access to the building and digital\video recording of the property.
