Acasio Pinheiro, a Princeton, NJ eighth-grader at local private school, The Wilberforce School, won this cross country award in his category (boys ages 13-14) on Jan. 17 at the Edison, NJ awards ceremony.

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Feb. 20, 2015 — Local eighth-grader Acasio Pinheiro won the title of USA Track and Field New Jersey 2015 Junior Olympic Athlete of the Year for his category (boys ages 13-14). The awards ceremony took place at The Pines Manor in Edison, NJ on Jan. 17.
The Wilberforce School student was also recognized as the 2014 Cross Country NJ Middle School Champion, a title Pinheiro earned by breaking the course record. In addition, he was named the 2014 Regional Champion and has been the USATF NJ Champion for the past three consecutive years. When he was twelve, he won the All-American National Title in the 2013 AAU National Cross Country Championships in Fort Gordon, GA despite a minor knee injury. The Princeton, NJ private school student also won every race of his middle school career. Undefeated.
