Kelly Gorman receives 2015 Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholarship


Mukwonago High School senior Kelly Gorman, was recently honored as a recipient of the 2015 Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors in who excel in leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement.

Waukesha, WI, April 22, 2015 - Mukwonago High School senior Kelly Gorman, was recently honored as a recipient of the 2015 Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholarship.

The award, presented by U.S. Senator Herb Kohl (retired) recognizes graduating seniors in who excel in leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement.

“Education is the key to the future of Wisconsin and our nation. I am very proud of the accomplishments of these students, and look forward to the great contributions they will make in the future”, Kohl said.

Excellence Scholarship recipients are selected by a statewide committee composed of civic leaders, representatives of education-related associations and the program’s co-sponsors: The Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Council of Religious and Independent Schools (WCRIS), and regional Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESA).

Kelly plans to attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison in the fall of 2015 and hopes to pursue a degree in Marketing and Business.

The Kohl Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship program was established by former U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl in 1990. To date the foundation has awarded $9 million to Wisconsin educators, students and schools. Visit kohleducation.org
