FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Diego, CA, April 22, 2015 – The Kids of America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children with a better understanding of our Nation’s civic and economic systems, is proud to announce the launching of the U.S. Kids Chamber of Commerce™. The initial kickoff of the U.S. Kids Chamber of Commerce will be held at this weekend’s San Diego Kids Expo and Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

The purpose of the U.S. Kids Chamber of Commerce is to provide a program that helps children learn about their civic responsibilities as well as the economic opportunities afforded by America’s Free Enterprise System both in an educational environment and through “hands-on” experience.

The U.S. Kids Chamber of Commerce is tailored for children six years of age and older, who may remain in the program through the age of 20 as they develop the skills necessary to become conscientious citizens as well as successful contributors in their chosen careers whether they become entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, public servants (e.g., elected officials, firefighters, police officers, teachers, etc.), professionals (e.g., health care providers, attorneys, etc.) or anything else that fulfills their dreams. The program is designed to provide a forum in which children can learn about the “business of their lives” and begin to assemble the necessary knowledge and resources to realize their highest potential.

A teaching of civics and critical thinking will provide a foundation for the program. Correspondingly, the business curricula will include but not be limited to: accounting and finance, business law, human resources, insurance, investments, inventory and procurement, microeconomics, research and development, sales and marketing, and sustainability. The goal will be to help participants actually create a business from scratch that can be retained or sold as they graduate from the program as well as to create the next generation of mentors.

The U.S. Kids Chamber of Commerce is designed to expand tomorrow’s base of leaders who can compete effectively in a global market and who will enhance the civic underpinnings of our American communities.

Please visit us at our booth 352 and 453 at the San Diego Kids Expo & Fair (April 25th and 26th) to learn more and to enroll your children if you would like to provide them with a jump start on success.
