For the second year in a row The Turks and Caicos American Football Academy (TCIAFA) welcomes our friends from the NFL to participate in the annual summer American Football camp. This camp not only provides the tools and resources for local youth participants to learn the great game of American football, but also provides a safe space and community environment for the Island's underprivileged youth to call their own.

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos (June 22, 2016) - The Turks and Caicos Islands American Football Academy (TCIAFA) is pleased to announce the kick-off of their annual Summer Youth American Football Camp. Special invited professional athletes from the NFL who will take part in the camp include: Randy Moss (NFL Wide Receiver San Francisco 49ers - retired), Aqib Talib, (NFL Cornerback Denver Broncos), Vincent Wilfork (NFL Defensive Tackle Houston Texans) and Matt Lawrence (NFL Running back Baltimore Ravens - retired).

“We believe that the skills learned will positively impact youths' personal lives and academics, which will be transferable to professions in the Turks and Caicos Islands” (Ryan Jones - Founder and Executive Director of TCIAFA).

The Summer Youth American Football Camp will welcome 100 plus local youth participants of the Islands of Turks and Caicos on July 13th, 2016 and end on July 16th, 2016. Within the camp, participants will learn and practice the fundamentals of American Football, including warm-ups, speed training, running back drills, blocking and tackling, receiving, handoff and pitch exercises, interception and gauntlet, downhill linebacker drills, line basics, special teams, plays and more. NFL athletes, along with local coaches and staff, will be teaching the youth a wealth of knowledge from their experiences on and off the field as well as giving them the confidence and endurance to reach towards any future goals within the sport.

About The Turks and Caicos Islands American Football Academy

TCIAFA is a budding, non-profit organization created to introduce the island’s youth to the amazing game of American football. What started as just a small vision has now manifested into something extraordinary for the community of the Turks and Caicos Islands. With a continuously growing number of participants, the academy currently mentors over 100 adolescents, ages 7-18.

Established in 2014, TCIAFA was conceived to be a community organization built on providing pathways and opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. As mentors they promote fitness and instill important life skills including teamwork, leadership, discipline and individual skill development. The principle goal is to provide underprivileged local and regional adolescents with a foundation to be successful in life. The academy enables the youth to be physically active and learn, all while enjoying one of America’s greatest pastimes.
