James M. Vera, Board Certified Hypnotist and Certified Respiratory Therapist is providing a no-cost opportunity to “Stop Smoking for Good This Time!” in honor of the Great American Smoke Out via a live online interactive webinar.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cheshire Connecticut- November 11, 2016. In the 1970’s The American Cancer Society started The Great American Smokeout to help encourage people to stop smoking for good. The Great American Smokeout event has helped dramatically change American’s attitudes about smoking. These annual events began when smoking and second hand smoke were common.
The idea for The Great American Smokeout began in 1970 in Randolph, Massachusetts. Arthur P. Mullaney asked people to give up cigarettes for one day and donate the money they would have spent on cigarettes to a high school scholarship fund. Then in 1974, Lynn R. Smith, editor of the Monticello Times in Minnesota began the first D-Day or Don’t Smoke Day. This idea caught on and then The California Division of the American Cancer Society got nearly 1 million smokers to quit for the day. That California event was the first Smokeout and the American Cancer Society took it nationwide in 1977. We have seen so many dramatic changes nationwide in the way the public views tobacco advertising and tobacco use. Many public places and workplaces are now smoke-free.
In honor of The Great American Smokeout, James M. Vera, BCH, CRT is offering a no-cost opportunity to stop smoking for good during his Stop Smoking Hypnosis Webinar to anyone who is serious about wanting to kick the habit.
