FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NASHVILLE, TN – December 14, 2015 – The eleventh annual “Music City Mardi Gras: A Celebration of Hope,” benefiting the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation [the Foundation], is scheduled on Friday, February 6, 2016 at the VANDERBILT STUDENT LIFE CENTER (310 25TH Avenue South across from Memorial Gym) in Nashville featuring the hottest band in Nashville - BURNING LAS VEGAS. Doors open at 7:00 PM. There will be a cash bar and a food buffet.

Tickets will be on sale, starting January 1st, at www.lrpfoundation.org and are $40 in advance and $50 at the door the night of the event.

BURNING LAS VEGAS, Nashville’s foremost funk, rock, rhythm & blues soul band and known as the “hottest band in the South” are the featured entertainment. Known for their riveting and explosive performances, their shows are one of the
hottest tickets in town. They play everything from the sounds of the Oldies, to Motown, to Dance/Disco/Funk to Memphis/Muscle Shoals. The band features three powerful female vocalists, each with a distinct style. A tight horn section helps round out the powerful rhythm section, which features some of Nashville's best players. BURNING LAS VEGAS incorporates a chemistry and passion into their shows that invites the audience to participate - you just can’t sit down! For more information you can go to www.burninglasvegas.com.

The eleventh annual “Music City Mardi Gras” will again hold a silent auction that will take place throughout the evening with many celebrity items, Titans and Predators memorabilia and various other items to bid on. Last year’s auction was one of the bigger silent auctions in the city.

The first ten “Music City Mardi Gras” events were resounding successes having raised over $550,000 for the Foundation’s efforts to support families touched by blood related cancer and assisting animal welfare organizations. A few of the things that the money raised went towards were financial assistance for patients, refrigerators for all rooms, specialized walkers and other physical therapy equipment, 23 specialized tables for the outpatient stem cell transplant
rooms, a commercial blanket warmer and much more. We continue to provide “hospital survival packs” along with a monthly “lunch and massage day” for all the patients and donations continue to be made to animal welfare organizations
in the area.

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is a charitable foundation founded in 2004 by her sister Janet Ross, and operated by Janet and a small group of committed citizens, dedicated to the memory and charitable legacy of Lisa Ross Parker, whose life was taken at age 33 by leukemia. The Foundation’s mission encompasses two things that were most important to Lisa - providing support for families touched by cancer, and assisting animal welfare organizations. The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is a tax exempt public operating charity under Internal Revenue Code Sections 501 (c )(3) and 509 (a)(1).
