Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s state and local tax (SALT) practice chair Stewart M. Weintraub again served as the overall chair of the ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars, an annual conference that brings the latest state and local tax updates to tax professionals nationwide.

Weintraub led the organization of the annual conference, which is jointly sponsored by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. The ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars were held March 20 to 24, 2017 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans. Weintraub also moderated a panel during a joint session of the Income Tax portion and Sales & Use Tax portion entitled “Illegal or Just Frowned Upon? An Exploration of Black, White, and Gray Areas” and a panel at the Property Tax portion entitled “Ethics for Property Tax Lawyers and Consultants.”

In 2003, Weintraub was appointed to serve as a member of a new voter-approved Tax Reform Commission. He also has held leadership positions for the American Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association and has chaired or co-chaired the state and local tax committee for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce since 1983.
