The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) has organized a “Research Scholars' and Guides' meet,” on May 15, 2017 for the smooth functioning of the research works on going in the University in the departments of various schools. The intention behind this meet is to give emphasis on the research and development initiatives of USTM and bring all the research scholars, guides and faculties in the same platform to share each other's knowledge. Prof Chandan Sarma, Prof & head Department of Sociology, Tezpur University was present as a distinguished speaker on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor of USTM Dr. P. G. Rao chaired the meet in the presence of the Dr R K Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor USTM, Prof Amarjyoti Choudhury, CV Raman Chair Professor, USTM and all the Deans of the respective schools and faculty members.
During his address Prof Sarma appreciated the authorities of USTM for organizing this scholars-guides meet in a regular basis. Prof Sarma said that, such meetings will enhance the further scope of interdisciplinary research works. He urged the scholars to gather maximum knowledge in their research domain and meet and interact with the researchers of cross disciplines.
The Vice Chancellor, USTM Dr P G Rao while addressing the scholars stressed on the importance of discipline while carrying out their research work. He requested the scholars to identify the problems and to solve it immediately with their respective guides.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks from Dr. Amit Choudhury, Dean School of Business Sciences USTM.
