Join Patient Power in Houston for Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN) Event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Patient Power is excited to announce that it will join forces with its partner, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, to host a town meeting for myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) patients and care partners on Saturday, October 7th, in Houston, Texas. This informative and interactive event will be moderated by patient advocate, Jack Aiello and feature MPN experts Dr. Srdan Verstovsek and clinician Julie Huynh-Lu, both from MD Anderson Cancer Center along with Dr. Abdulraheem Yacoub of University of Kansas Medical Center. The panelists will discuss current treatments and cutting-edge therapies in development for essential thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV), and myelofibrosis (MF). Patients will also learn how to find a specialist to optimize their care and tips for managing MPN symptoms and side effects. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and connect with others living with MPNs over complimentary breakfast and coffee. The event is free.
Register now (https://www.patientpower.info/event/mpn-houston-2017) to attend this free event on Saturday, October 7th from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm CT at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (1155 Pressler St., Houston, TX 77030). Free self-parking is available in the Pressler Garage at 1180 Pressler St. If unable to attend in-person, patients and care partners can still register (https://www.patientpower.info/event/mpn-houston-2017) to watch online via live stream from their computer and gain access to the replay.
It’s critical that ET, PV, and MF patients and their loved ones are educated about their diagnosis in order to become more proactive with care, and the Patient Power community allows patients to be up close with leading experts to learn what treatment options are available. One past town meeting attendant said, “I was happy to hear that there are more trials and medications on the horizon for MF. I read a lot about MF and learned a few things that no one has mentioned before.” You can be just as knowledgeable and proactive by registering here: https://www.patientpower.info/event/mpn-houston-2017.
