The 2017 JLT Restaurant Awards concluded with a glitzy ceremony and a capacity crowd witnessed the big reveal of the winners and runner-ups of the 19 categories in Dubai’s first hyper-local F&B awards.

Dubai, UAE (PRURGENT) -- On Monday, 27th November 2017, the five-star Bonnington Hotel in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers neighbourhood, played host to the gala ceremony marking the end of the inaugural JLT Restaurant Awards. The event, which saw the winners and runner-up of the Award’s 19 categories announced by the well known MC and actor Regan Tetlow, was attended by 100 local restaurateurs, F&B professionals, and foodies.
Dubai’s first ever hyper-local F&B awards attracted 74 nominations across 19 categories and recorded almost 8,000 online votes for the 16 publicly voted categories, which ranged from “Best North Indian” to “Best Café”, “Best Middle Eastern”, and “Best Brunch”. Three additional categories, “Most Unique Concept”, “Best Newcomer”, and “Best Overall”, were judged by an expert panel of industry insiders consisting of Martin Kubler, CEO, sps:affinity; Andreas Mensch, Executive Chef, Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach; Samantha Wood, Founder, FooDiva; and Richard Stratton, JLT Resident and Radio Presenter, Dubai 92.
Notable winners were: Bait Maryam for Best Middle Eastern and Best Overall, Le Petit Belge for Best Newcomer, McGettigan’s JLT for Best Bar, and Couqley French Bistro & Bar for Best European (Licensed).

The ceremony attracted a number of high-profile guests incl. Vishal Pandey, the founder of the Middle East Food Forum, and Chef Tomas Reger, who presented the awards for the “Best Eurpean (Unlicensed)” category.
