Out of the Box Integration to Increase Student Engagement. Logos was founded in 1989 and is the first fully accredited Asian American seminary by both the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Campus Consortium, the largest global education association of schools, colleges and universities, awards Logos Evangelical Seminary (Logos) a $252,465 Grant to implement a Mobile Campus App for students and faculty. Located in El Monte, California, Logos was founded in 1989 and is the first fully accredited Asian American seminary by both the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
Delighted to receive the grant, Rev. Kuo-Liang Lin, President at the Logos Evangelical Seminary shared what drove the institution to apply for the grant, “Considering the majority of students have smartphones who expect to have easy access to their learning materials, academic info, and campus news, we had been wanting to have our own Mobile APP to better serve the student body for online and mobile learning and communication. However, we are a small faith-based non-profit higher education institution with very limited financial resources. Therefore, we did not have a development team who could develop and maintain the Mobile APP nor could we afford such significant capital investment on this initiative.”
He added, “Campus Consortium’s mobile campus grant becomes essential and vital to Logos’ online and mobile learning initiative. Through the rich features of the mobile APP platform, I believe it will not only make Logos’ resources more convenient and accessible to our community members, but also will help to build a closer, safer, and stronger learning community.”
The Campus Consortium Grant will enable Logos Evangelical Seminary to build their official mobile app through the technology provider Unifyed. The mobile app will consist of 14 basic applets like Campus News, Emergency Numbers, Campus Events, Social Media, Maps, Dinning etc. In addition, it will also feature Unifyed Applets for LMS, Academics and Unifyed Connect.
“This mobile app solution is bound to provide an out of the box integration. We hope Logos accomplishes a significant increase in user engagement since the personalized applets will be a great asset for the institution. We believe this will be an opportunity for Logos Evangelical Seminary to grow and thrive. We wish them all the luck.”, states Anjli Jain, Chairman of the Campus Consortium.
