LB&B Associates Inc. has helped to create a Welcoming Video created for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Patrons at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
LB&B Associates Inc. has helped to create a Welcoming Video created for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Patrons at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
In an effort to increase accessibility, NARA created a welcoming video for its many deaf and hard-of hearing patrons. This video served as an introduction to the museum and all it has to offer. LB&B audiovisual staff was called upon to help turn words into action. The video shoot involved two deaf, local college students giving an introduction to the museum in American Sign Language. They each stood in front of a green screen and signed to the script of a teleprompter. A sign language interpreter helped to facilitate communication between all parties. On the day of the shoot, LB&B operated the teleprompter and camera, respectively. They worked together with the NARA video producer to turn the written word into a visual image. The video provides the deaf and hearing impaired with a welcome video they would otherwise have missed. Big thanks to the LB&B National Archives Facility Maintenance and Audio Visual Team for providing this wonderful support.
