In preparation for the novel's release next week, author Mike Restaino sat down for an exclusive interview.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Incline Village, NV -- 2/22/2018 -- Paper Ghosts, the new novel from acclaimed filmmaker and author Mike Restaino, will arrive in bookstores on February 27th, 2018. To mark its release, fellow writer Steve Dolan set up an exclusive interview with Restaino. The novel is available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and IndieBound.
"In my experience, if you’re going to make a living as an artist, you have to sacrifice," Restaino said. "For example, I tend to keep my overhead low. I don’t have a lot of bills, I don’t have a lot of expenses. I love making art, and I live pretty meagerly in order to facilitate that."
"To me, that’s Luke’s journey in Paper Ghosts. If he wants to write a novel - one that might not work, that might not sell - I’ve seen it with colleagues: they spend years of their lives working on a novel just to have it flicker and disappear. 'Oh, that’s that book I spent six years putting together.'"
"I wanted my protagonist to look down the barrel of that, to recognize what he was getting himself into."
The full interview was published on the official website for Paper Ghosts (www.paperghostsbook.com).
Mike worked as an entertainment journalist for a decade before becoming an artist full-time. His debut film Better Than Crazy was released by Continuum Motion Pictures in 2015. His nonfiction book Catching the Big One and Letting It Go - about the final live performances of Neil Young & Crazy Horse - comes out in late 2018, and he has an untitled murder mystery slated for release in 2019.
Restaino will stage book signings and readings across the United States through the summer of 2018. For dates and times, contact Buenos Tiempos at (775) 298-6571 or firstname.lastname@example.org and follow Mike and the novel on Facebook and Instagram.
