FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

ONTARIO , Canada -- The complex barriers and stigmas of anxiety disorders are discussed candidly, humorously and uniquely by Canadian author K.A. Neeson in her new novel release, “The Story of Jess & Arv: Giving Love a Chance”.

“You may think you are alone but I promise you, you are not alone. I am here walking along this journey with you,” Neeson says talking about her book, The Story Of Jess & Aver :Giving Love A Chance

As someone who struggles with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD, Neeson is determined to spread awareness through Avlene’s quirky love story.
The new novel depicts a very different life. Avlene is plagued by fears and anxiety. OCD makes it a challenge for Avlene to change her routines. This novel shows her determination to master her fears and control her anxiety. Avlene successfully, although not easily, succeeds in living her life on her terms.

“Within a short time frame, I experienced love, loss, reconciliation and heartbreak. This is the story of my revelation, how I almost single-handedly destroyed the best thing that had ever befallen me, and the incidents and events that followed. My name is Aver, and this is my story’, Neeson writes.

She is an aspiring actress in New York City whose life is complicated by her Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). She copes by sticking to a strict, predictable routine, both at work and in her free time. She has a few close friends but doesn’t socialize much.
When Avlene reads for a part for renowned writer Jesse Macgregor, she knows she’s perfect for the role and is somewhat disappointed when she doesn’t get it. But a few days later, her agent calls and says Jesse wants to meet her.

As it turns out, he took a personal interest in her and, since he wanted to pursue a relationship with her, opted not to offer her the role, even though he thought she was perfect for it. Jesse has a strict rule about mixing business and pleasure.

To her surprise, Avlene finds Jesse quite attractive and he is able to gently coax her out of her self-imposed solitude as their relationship slowly develops. Jesse’s patience is the key to Avlene’s development, enhanced by the fact that she discovers the identity of her long-lost father, who turns out to be someone she’s known and trusted for years—Dave, the owner of the local diner.

The compelling story will draw in the reader.

Avlene struggles with believing she is “the one” for Jesse, even as she knows he is “the one” for her, leading to a months-long breakup as she panics at the thought of marriage. Encouraged by her new-found father and friends, she reunites with Jesse, accepting that he truly does love her as she is, and they are married shortly afterward.
Mere months into their marriage, Jesse’s health declines precipitously as the cancer he had in college returns with a vengeance. He is given only months to live, as the cancer is inoperable.
Aver and Jess’s love now becomes bittersweet as they make the most of the time remaining to them. Jess makes preparations to ensure Aver will never need to worry, and he plans a few surprises to comfort her after his death. Aver struggles to come to terms with losing the man who has shown her that she is capable of living a full and eventful life, even with GAD.

This is not a self-help website; however, the blogs will make you realize hey I have felt exactly like that! You may think you are alone but I promise you, you are not alone. I am here walking along this journey with you.” Neeson says.
Early reviews for the book released this week have been favorable.

Sophie Kiwala, MPP, who is a member of the Canadian Parliament, writes, “There is no doubt that more people are coping with mental health challenges, experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety and stress and are more frequently being diagnosed with other more complicated mental health disorders. K.A. Neeson deftly accesses these difficult subjects and palpably carves out for the reader what everyday simple experiences are like for someone with General Anxiety Disorder, whether they are falling in love, going through the ever so common waiting-room-anxiety, or experiencing tragedy. As the subject of mental health becomes less stigmatized and we seek and must understand more about mental health, this book is an accessible-for-all must-read and is written with a compassionate, gentle and humanist approach. It has the capacity to build much needed awareness and understanding, and is a perfect resource for the classroom, discussion groups, or for personal reflection and development. This is one exciting new writer to keep an eye on in the future!”
Retail price for the new paperback is $12.99 USD at book outlets throughout North America, including: Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million. The eBook version is $2.99 USD and sold at Amazon, iBooks and Kindle.
