What: APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules Workshop

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Framework has become the model for ensuring interoperability across privacy regimes. Over the past year, more APEC economies, such as South Korea and Singapore, have announced participation in the system, enhancing company efforts to seamlessly move data across borders. Australia, the Philippines and Taiwan have announced their intention to join. APEC leaders and industry representatives will discuss ways to better understand how the framework works and the benefits it provides to both companies and countries that participate and adopt its principles.

When: Monday, March 26 from 1-5 p.m. ET. Registration opens at 12:30pm ET. Welcoming remarks and keynotes by Secretary Wilbur Ross, U.S. Department of Commerce and Acting Chairman of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Maureen Ohlhausen will begin at 1pm ET. A closing Reception will take place at 5 p.m. ET.
