Dettlaff and Dallich have been president and vice president, respectively, for 15 years. They, along with former treasurer Meulemans, will maintain advisory positions in their roles as board members, with the titles chairman of the board and senior principals.

New president Ian Griffiths has been associated with Berners-Schober since 1991. He noted the changes reflect the firm’s history of developing employees to take on leadership roles. “I am deeply humbled to step into the role of leading this well-established firm but know our successes will not be measured by what positions we hold, but by what we do to inspire others. We are proud of staff who have been with the firm for many years, and those who have chosen to join us more recently. These are indeed exciting times for all of us.”

The other new officers, John Miller, Matt Veriha, and Wendy Thorson, have an average tenure of over 25 years with the firm. “For every enduring firm there are defining moments in the shift of leadership. The change has been gradual and now we are at another milestone,” said outgoing president Joe Dettlaff. “The leadership will continue to drive quality design, engineering and client-centered service which have been cornerstones of this business and our community.”
