Nonprofits Learn to Speak Their Mind at Clearwater Community Volunteers Center Networking Lunch

Clearwater Community Volunteers Center hosts monthly networking luncheons for local non-profits with this one featuring tips from a professional speaker.

Clearwater, FL – On the 31st of July, the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center hosted its monthly luncheon for local nonprofits with 16 people in attendance. The luncheon’s purpose is to create new partnerships within the nonprofit community for the biggest impact towards the bettering of social ills. The luncheon featured tips from polished public speaker Darrell Edrich and was followed by group networking.

Mr. Edrich has been publicly speaking for over 30 years. His passion is helping nonprofit organizations make effective presentations. Mr. Edrich gave a few tips on speaking. These included the tip that in order to have an engaged audience when on stage, you have to have certainty in what you will be saying. Another was that one has to acquire the persona of a speaker who intends to get his message across to the entire audience.

After Mr. Edrich’s speech, guests practiced their new skills by introducing themselves and giving a short description of their nonprofit’s mission.

“The Center serves as a place for the nonprofit community to come together,” said Michael Soltero, Manager of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center. “Bringing them together to learn how to deliver a great presentation gives them the tools to make a bigger difference. Providing programs like this, we are following in the footsteps of humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard who wrote, ’The way to happiness is far more easily followed when one supports people of goodwill.’”
