2nd TSWY Int'l Film Festival to be held on Nov 3rd in Los Angeles


KMB Entertainment in association with the College of the Canyons ASL Department and Club present the 2nd TSWY International Film Festival.

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 12, 2018 - KMB Entertainment in association with the College of the Canyons ASL Department and Club present the 2nd TSWY International Film Festival.

The festival has as its mission to promote and encourage team work between Deaf and hearing filmmakers. Created from the main concept of The Strength Within You Film Series, this festival was organized to give the opportunity to those who may not have that many opportunities or venues to show their work, while believing that the collaboration between Deaf and hearing crew and cast can bring respect and education to new filmmakers from all over the world toward the deaf community.

The festival will take place at Hasley Hall Theater located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd, Valencia, Santa Clarita, California on November 3rd from 2pm to 10pm followed by an after-party. The festival will consist of a free entry to filmmakers interview hour starting at 2pm to 3pm, following 2 1h30m showcase screening sessions of shorts and feature films selected by the festival's directors, and ending with a selection of special multi-awarded films including 19 times nominee, 10 times winner film "This is Ed!!", 30+ times nominee, 10 times winner film "Sign – A Silent Film", Best Horror Film at the Seatlle Deaf Film Festival "Deafening Darkness" and 15 times nominee, 13 times winner film "Wild Prairie Rose" and will include the premiere of KMB Entertainment's new short-film "Talk to the Hands - A Prologue", a film highlighting the difference between Deaf and Hearing culture. "Talk to the Hands – A Prologue" gives a hint and set up the character and story which will be developed in the feature length film, "Talk to the Hands" schedule to be released in 2019.

The event will be video hosted by actor/director/American Sign Language Performer; Tyrone Oraguzie, who has recently toured with singers Prince Charlez and Ayanis. The ASL Department and Club will be providing sign language interpretation and access to and from ASL signers at the event.

The festival's selected films includes: Oh Sugar!, Eye of the Beholder, Telltale Signs, White Noise, Tempo, Awkward Silence, Greta My Love, Relationshit, Hedy & Heidi: The Lost Sister and Don't Just Hear.

Filmmakers Open Interview hour will be attended by Katia Belas (Brazilian Filmmaker & Creator of "The Strength Within You" Film series), Deborah LeVine (Award Winner Director/Producer of "Wild Prairie Rose"). Lisa Stoll (Award Winner Cinematographer of "The Strength Within You – DUI"), Troy Kotsur (Actor/Director of "Wild Prairie Rose". Kotsur is best know for his role on TV shows such as CSI), Phillip Brown II and Justin Callaway (Director & Cinematographer, respectively, of "Eye of the Beholder") and other filmmakers of films selected for the festival, and more to be announced.
