The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) will be hosting its annual Health Care Conference on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Atlanta, Ga. Attendees will receive the tools and resources needed to stay on top of recent trends and changes in financial health care. Local industry leaders will discuss a wide range of issues in the legal, regulatory, audit, and operational realms of financial health care. Registration and the full schedule can be found on the GSCPA website:

Trending subjects of discussion will include the important role of CPAs in the opioid crisis, focusing on the internal controls that stakeholders for both public and private companies should consider, mitigating issues related to the crisis.

Take an in-depth look at the CMS 2552-10 Medicare cost report worksheet S-10 with explanation of how hospital payments for uncompensated care will be affected by recent changes to the regulations. Examine best practices used to complete Worksheet S-10, and receive further insights gained through the inaugural desk review.

The New York Times recently reported the value of health care merger and acquisition deals in the first half of 2018 was more than double value recorded in the same period of 2017. Explore the areas in which finance and accounting contribute to a successful integration, as well as lessons learned from recent transactions.

Additional topics of discussion will be key developments and the impact of Tax Reform; legal trends affecting the health care industry; a FASB update; strategic insight to empower health care organizations; cybersecurity and risk management; and revenue recognition implementation.

Designed for CPAs with health care clients, administrators of hospitals, physician groups, managed care organizations, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, compliance officers, internal auditors, and financial managers.

Two tracks of study are provided to give attendees flexibility and design over their educational plan by focusing on the topics of greatest relevance and interest to health care businesses and clients.
