FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

The Humble Artesian League of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) named Kristena Hackett the 2020 Woman of the Year and 2020 Top Ten. Each year Humble Artesian emphasizes the outstanding achievements of our members by electing a Woman of the Year and Top Ten. The Houston Area Council (HAC) of ABWA recognizes the Woman of the Year and Top Ten each year at an annual luncheon.

The Woman of the Year program was designed so that every Chapter/Express Network can annually recognize a member who has made notable contributions and outstanding achievements. Being named Woman of the Year is a great honor — one that’s highly respected by ABWA members.

The Top Ten is an ABWA National award, with chapters across the United States nominating a member based on her career, education, involvement in ABWA, and contributions to her community. The final Top Ten are chosen by a panel of three businesswomen outside of ABWA.

Kristena Hackett will be presented with her 2020 ABWA Woman of the Year and Top Ten award on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Junior League of Houston. The Recognition Luncheon has an attendance of more than 250 members and guests from around the Houston area and surrounding areas. There are over 400 ABWA members in the Houston Area Council.

Kristena is currently the owner of Source Media Solutions. For over a decade as the media and IT specialist of a non-profit organization in Houston, Texas, she developed the skills at every level of the industry from videography and editing to writing, interviewing, audio mixing, and IT services. As a Keynote Speaker, she shares her knowledge on social media, business apps, or even how to keep going through the darkest of times. Kristena's love for friends and family is what matters most. She learned from her mother how to be strong but loving, tenacious but humble, and hardworking but always willing to help. Kristena was timid, quiet, and scared, but was accepted for who she was by her sisters in ABWA Humble Artesian. ABWA caused her to step out of her comfort zone and step into her destiny. Special thanks to her mom, Valencia Hackett for her support and love!

The Humble Artesian Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association has a long history in our area. The Humble Charter Chapter was chartered in 1979, and the Artesian Chapter in 1981. The chapters combined their resources in 1989, becoming Humble Artesian Chapter. The chapter continues to be a wonderful representation of the many businesses and services offered in our area.

The Humble Artesian League of ABWA is part of a national network of businesswomen. Founded in 1949, ABWA is a strong association of chapters and Express Networks nationwide. ABWA provides business skills training and networking opportunities for women of diverse occupations to enhance career advancement and personal development.
