New Novel Challenges Weak Fathers

Rock Hill, SC, November 6 - Dr. Meg Meeker’s novel, Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters, resonated with readers and led to the production of a film adaptation. A soon to be released women’s contemporary novel titled The Girl in Her portrays the profound negative impact weak fathers can have on their daughters.

The Girl in Her, a Christian novel subtitled “In the soul of a woman is a little girl,” tells the tale of Olivia Carr, a young woman grappling with the psychological effect of a father’s harsh criticism and emotional distance. Growing up feeling unloved and of little worth, with a constant undercurrent of not belonging, the school teacher lives her private life in social isolation.
Author Sandra Kay Vosburgh, writer of the award-winning Sackets Harbor Mysteries, states, “The view that a child forgets easily is not an accurate one. Many people go through life in the grip of an idea which has been impressed on them in very tender years.”
Everything changes for Olivia when a brochure lures her to embark on a Canadian maritime cruise. The voyage stirs latent memories and takes her into a world of tragedy, deception, and love. The ending promises satisfaction and a belief that a happily-ever-after is possible for every father’s daughter.
