Kalon Dermatology Encourages Annual Skin Cancer Screenings for Brooklyn Residents

BROOKLYN, NY – Kalon Dermatology is encouraging Brooklyn residents to schedule annual skin cancer screenings as part of routine preventive health care. The practice now offers full-body skin examinations at its Bay Ridge office on 4th Avenue.

A skin cancer screening is a non-invasive examination in which a dermatologist evaluates moles, spots, and other skin changes for signs of melanoma and other forms of skin cancer. If an area appears suspicious, additional evaluation or a biopsy may be recommended to help determine whether further treatment is needed.

Regular skin examinations may be especially appropriate for people with a history of frequent sun exposure, blistering sunburns, fair skin, numerous moles, or a family history of skin cancer. Identifying suspicious skin changes early may improve treatment options and outcomes.
