The Best of Monterey County® poll is one of the region's most anticipated annual traditions, run by Monterey County NOW, the independent, locally owned news organization that has served the Central Coast for decades. Each year, thousands of readers nominate and vote for their favorite people, places, and businesses across hundreds of categories — from best taqueria to best roofer — and the results are published each fall in a keepsake edition that circulates throughout Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.

Per Monterey County NOW's poll rules, one vote per category is counted per reader, and voters are typically asked to participate in a minimum number of categories for their ballot to qualify.
