Alex Kruz Wins Best Actor at Historic 10th TINFF for “Red Cloud: New Day,” Earning Six Festival Nominations
Hollywood heat meets international acclaim as Alex Kruz wins Best Actor at TINFF for “Red Cloud: New Day,” a bold comic-book feature that stormed the festival with six nominations and a major award win.

International acclaim is building for actor Alex Kruz, who has taken home the Best Actor award at the historic 10th Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) for his performance in the action-packed comic-book feature “Red Cloud: New Day.”

The award caps a strong festival showing for the film, which received six TINFF nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Stunt Coordination, Best Female Filmmaker Collaborators for Ewa Pirog and Gabriella Kamile, Best Movie Trailer, and Best Actor for Kruz.

The 10th anniversary edition of TINFF represents a significant milestone for the festival. This year, TINFF has partnered with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for a special cross-promotion collaboration during Toronto’s 2026 film festival season. The festival has also successfully passed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ preliminary review to become an Academy Award-qualifying festival, adding further international significance to Kruz’s Best Actor win.

For Kruz, the recognition adds another milestone to the growing profile of an actor leading a distinctive comic-book action franchise. “Red Cloud: New Day” expands upon the acclaimed short film “Red Cloud: Deliverance,” which received the Spirit of Comic Con award from Wizard Entertainment and was selected for exhibition at Comic-Con conventions during 2014 and 2015.

The feature has also earned recognition beyond the festival circuit. Cinema Crazed named “Red Cloud: New Day” one of its “Top 10 Comic Book Movies of All Time,” further highlighting the film’s place within the independent comic-book film landscape.

“Red Cloud: New Day” is globally distributed by Filmhub and is currently available to stream for free on Fawesome TV, with additional channels and international platforms being added.

With a major festival award, six nominations, global distribution, and a growing streaming footprint, “Red Cloud: New Day” is bringing renewed attention to Alex Kruz and a comic-book film franchise that has been building its audience for more than a decade.
