Aurora Day 2026: 1st Rollerblade Competition Concludes in Success; Province Gears Up for Surfing, Skateboarding, and Culinary Festivities
The “Sigla at Galak sa Kultura at Turismo” festivities in Baler, Aurora featured the 1st ADC Rollerblade Competition at the Baler Skatepark as part of the province’s 47th Anniversary celebrations.
BALER, AURORA — February 10, 2026 — The "Sigla at Galak sa Kultura at Turismo" (Vitality and Joy in Culture and Tourism) festivities reached a high-speed milestone this weekend with the successful conclusion of the 1st ADC Rollerblade Competition. As the province celebrates its 47th Anniversary, the momentum continues with a packed schedule of sports, culture, and culinary excellence.
Celebrating the Champions: 1st ADC Rollerblade Competition Results
The first-ever ADC Rollerblade Competition has officially crowned its pioneers. Following a weekend of intense heats and technical displays, the province is proud to announce the winners: In the Men’s Division, the First Place was awarded to Charles Yuan, followed by Chriz John in second, and Khayle Marzan in third. These athletes have set a high bar for future rollerblading events in the region.
Rollerblade Success and the Rise of the Baler Skatepark
The inaugural Rollerblade Competition saw athletes from across the region test their skills at the world-class Baler Skatepark in Barangay Calabuanan. This PHP 39.2 million facility, spanning 6,155 square meters, has quickly become the crown jewel of Philippine action sports.
The skatepark is equipped with an administration building, a 350-capacity grandstand, and an expansive parking area. Since its recent inauguration—graced by local officials and skating icons like Margielyn Didal—the park has served as a testament to the government’s commitment to providing world-class arenas for Filipino youth.
Looking ahead, the energy remains at the skatepark as the 17th Skateboarding Competition is set to commence on February 13–15. This long-standing tradition continues to nurture the "Taga Baler" skateboarding spirit, providing a professional platform for the next generation of silver and gold medalists.
A Taste of Aurora: Trade Fair and Food Fiesta
Starting February 12, the Capitol Grounds will transform into a culinary destination with the Siempre Aurora Trade Fair and Food Fiesta. Visitors can indulge in the province’s most iconic delicacies, including the famous Baler Suman, fresh Lobster, crisp Pako (Fern) Salad, and the beloved Buko Pie. Foodies should not miss the chance to try Pancit de Baler, a local staple that perfectly captures the flavors of the Pacific coast.
Surfing Heritage: The 18th Aurora Surfing Challenge
On February 13–15, the action moves to the shores of Barangay Sabang, the legendary birthplace of Philippine surfing. Sabang’s waves gained international fame when they served as the backdrop for the iconic surfing scenes in the movie Apocalypse Now. The 18th Aurora Surfing Challenge will honor this heritage, bringing together surfers to compete in the very waters where the sport first took root in the country.
Valentine’s Day Highlights
The festival spirit will take a romantic and colorful turn on February 14:
6:00 AM: The Valentine Bubble & Color Fun Run will paint the route from Quezon Park to the Capitol Grounds in vibrant hues.
7:00 PM: The Binibining Aurora 2026 Talent Night & Festival Attire Competition will showcase the grace, intelligence, and cultural pride of Aurora’s finest young women.
