Introduction

Accomplished author and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Charles Feggans announces the release of his latest book, Trapped by Impulsion: Based on a True Story. A gripping departure from his acclaimed Miller Homes series, this hard-hitting narrative pulls readers deep into the realities of the American correctional system, examining how an ordinary, well-intentioned man can become trapped in a dangerous criminal world.

About the Author:

Charles Feggans was born in Philadelphia and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served five years, including a tour in Vietnam — an experience that inspired his earlier novel, Unpleasant Pastures. A professional baker for more than 35 years, Feggans began his writing career at age 43.

He is the author of Miller Homes I, Miller Homes II, Unpleasant Pastures, and his latest release, Trapped by Impulsion. Feggans holds a Bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University

About the Book

Inspired by Feggans’ firsthand observations while working within the prison system, Trapped by Impulsion follows the story of Jack Wilson, a devoted family man struggling under the weight of low-paying work and the pressure to provide. Seeking stability, Jack accepts a job as a baker in a correctional facility.

What begins as minor, seemingly harmless favors for inmates soon escalates into a high-risk drug-smuggling operation — one impulsive decision leading to another until escape feels impossible. The story explores internal conflict, moral compromise, and the heavy price of desperation.

“The story is born from what I saw with my own eyes,” says Feggans. “I wanted to show how easily a person’s moral compass can be manipulated when they are under financial pressure. It’s a story of internal conflict, the temptation of easy money, and the devastating cost of one impulsive choice.”

Reception and Impact

Trapped by Impulsion has already earned praise for its authenticity and moral depth. Reader’s Favorite describes the book as “a riveting tale with an important message,” noting that Feggans “demonstrates how money turns a nice guy into the kind of criminal that society is screaming to have taken off the streets.”

Trapped by Impulsion is available now in paperback and eBook formats on Amazon, Barnes &Noble, and Walmart.com.
