BALER, AURORA — February 16, 2026 — The “Sigla at Galak sa Kultura at Turismo” (Vitality and Joy in Culture and Tourism) festivities reached a fever pitch this weekend. Aurora Day 2026 saw the successful conclusion of marquee sporting events and the opening of the provincial trade fair, solidifying the province's status as a premier destination for adventure and heritage.
The 18th Aurora Surfing Challenge: Honor in the Birthplace of Surfing
The legendary waves of Barangay Sabang provided a spectacular backdrop for the 18th Aurora Surfing Challenge. Pro and amateur surfers demonstrated world-class talent in the very waters made famous by the film Apocalypse Now, drawing hundreds of spectators to the shoreline to witness the high-stakes action.

Action continued at the state-of-the-art Baler Skatepark in Barangay Calabuanan. The PHP 39.2 million facility proved to be the perfect arena for the local "Taga Baler" community to showcase technical precision. The competition emphasized the growing professionalization of the sport in the province.
